Sunday sky

I missed the Saturday sky so heres a Sunday shot, very misty fog that has everything damp and quite cool.......spinning,knitting and reading knitting books weather.........its going to be a good day!!!

Its a bit dark but seriously no sun was getting through!

We went bush walking last weekend as the boys wanted to show me where they went to look for lizards(and snakes) and I wanted to know so I could get to them quickly in case of an accident /snake bite!

This is female (the boys assured me) Western Netted Dragon who was not happy having her Sunday disrupted, but she ordered us off regally from up on a rock near her hole after the fashion shoot!

Lookie what arrived in the mail this week, can't wait to spin it(once I empty the bobbins thats of the merino I was working on ages ago). Its merino alpacca and silk,it feels devine, soft and silky. There was a purpley one too but it went very quickly and the seller is waiting for more to come in!

Now I must go to do some house work etc and get the wheel out for a play!

  1. I like those misty, foggy days. We don't get very many of them. The Western Netted Dragon does not look happy at all. :) The merion alpaca silk is beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing it after you spin it.

  2. Great fibre - the colours look like those rocks you were looking for reptiles under.

  3. You'll have to give us details on how the alpaca and silk feels to spin! Minute, mouth watering detail!

  5. Oh that little dragon is so cute! I love lizards. If I didn't have cats I'd have lizards instead, even though their little claws are very scratchy and they are very cuddly :-)
Would you like a bit of the fleece I bought? I will send you some of the white Polwarth and the merino/corrie cross that I haven't blogged yet if you want. I'll wash it first just in case of quarantine but not process it any further.

  6. Hi Cathy, thanks for visiting my blog. I bought 2 lots of Opal from Melanie in Germany & 1 lot arrived within 3 weeks & still waiting for the other (already 5 weeks now). Contacted Melanie & she said it takes 6-8 weeks to arrive, so I guess we have to wait. Love the socks that you have been knitting. Sock On!
